Anambra Security: ASN Decries Poor Remuneration of AVG Operatives

.......Calls For Immediate Upward Review Amidst increasing security lapses in Anambra State, where there have been resurgence  of kidnapping  and  unwholesome criminal activities of Unknown Gun Men (UGM) of late, a group under the aegis of Anambra Security Network (ASN) has decried the poor treatment of operatives of the Anambra Vigilant Group (AVG). In a statement in Awka ASN called on the Anambra State Government and wealthy Anambrarians to encourage the members of AVG by paying them good salary. In the statement signed by the President of ASN, Col. Jude Obi Rtd, the group said presently AVG operatives are paid N100, 000  each, which they claimed  is extremely too small, considering the harsh economic situation of the country and the risk associated with their job. We have uncovered salary fraud in Ajaokuta Steel - Ohanaeze youths

The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, says it has uncovered monumental salary fraud in the Ajaokuta Steel Company.  The umbrella body of Igbo youth organisation said this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday, signed by its national president, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike. This is coming amid concerns over the state of the federal government-owned facility.  According to him, the latest discovery was one of the many alleged heists going on in the company. NELFUND: Ohanaeze youths fume over exclusion of South-East

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has expressed anger over the exclusion of the entire South-East from first phase disbursement of the students loan scheme. This is coming amid outcry that tertiary institutions in region was marginalised by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). It could be recalled that the Federal Government, through NELFUND, announced last week that N2.9 billion had been disbursed to 27, 667 students as the first set of beneficiaries of the loan scheme across 19 tertiary institutions in the country.  The list excluded potential beneficiaries from the South-East.  In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike described the development as unacceptable. President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Monday, for the first time, physically met with former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Mike Igini. The duo met at the ongoing 2024 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference in Lagos. Igini, while exchanging pleasantries with Akpabio noted, " this is the first I am physically meeting with the President of the Senate, we have only been seeing on Television."
