We have uncovered salary fraud in Ajaokuta Steel - Ohanaeze youths

The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, says it has uncovered monumental salary fraud in the Ajaokuta Steel Company.  The umbrella body of Igbo youth organisation said this in a statement made available to journalists on Friday, signed by its national president, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike. This is coming amid concerns over the state of the federal government-owned facility.  According to him, the latest discovery was one of the many alleged heists going on in the company. Okwu disclosed that a preliminary investigation carried out showed that there was a high level corruption within the company's staff recruitment process.  Ohanaeze youths said, “in our continuous drive to expose the economic sabotage and high level corruption in the Ajaokuta Steel Company, we beamed a searchlight on the company’s employment process.  “To our greatest chagrin, findings showed that staff members are not paid the same amount as outline in their appointm

NELFUND: Ohanaeze youths fume over exclusion of South-East

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has expressed anger over the exclusion of the entire South-East from first phase disbursement of the students loan scheme. This is coming amid outcry that tertiary institutions in region was marginalised by the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND). President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Monday, for the first time, physically met with former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Akwa Ibom State, Mr Mike Igini. The duo met at the ongoing 2024 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference in Lagos. Igini, while exchanging pleasantries with Akpabio noted, " this is the first I am physically meeting with the President of the Senate, we have only been seeing on Television." Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has waded into the attacks on the House of Representatives Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has expressed concern over the spate of kidnapping in the South-East.  The group’s worry comes amid the escalating cases of kidnapping across the five South-East states.  In a statement made available to journalists on Thursday, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike urged the governors of the five states to sit up and tackle the scourge headlong.  Okwu, who said the surge in kidnapping and other criminal activities was worrisome, noted that it had become a nightmare to travel through most of the roads.  “We are concerned that people now travel through the various roads in the South-East under tension.  “No day passes by without reports of abduction of commuters in various parts of the South-East.  “This is despite the countless number of checkpoints in the South-East zone.  “It has become a nightmare to commute from one South-East state to another;
