The Commissioner of Police, Anambra police command, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam has today 24/5/2024 activated onslaught Operations on the abductors of Fr. Basil Gbuzuo and Prof. Sydney Onyeagu of Unizik after their release by the kidnappers unhurt.  On a press release made available in the capital of Awka Anambra state, the Police public relations officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga said that "The CP assures that the Command is in high spirits and already leveraging on  information in this regard especially to frustrate criminal intentions of nonstate actors and reduce crime to the barest minimum in the State." The Anambra Police Command has recorded another major milestone with the rescue of a kidnap victim yesterday in Aguata LGA of the state.  The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, made this known in a press release, made available to this newspaper. He said that, officers of the command responded swiftly when they got a report at about 4:30 pm on 22/5/2024 of the abduction along Umuchiana village, Ekwulobia, Aguata LGA. Anambra State Police has frowned at a publication titled fear in Anambra Community over missing 19 rifles, which the command has described as a publication to promote personal agenda and seek attention. …Meeting to reconvene today …CDWR calls for mass action The tripartite minimum wage negotiation meeting involving Organised Labour, the federal and state governments, and the Organized Private Sector, OPS, yesterday ended in deadlock, following Labour’s dismissal of the government’s N54,000 offer as expected. Labour leaders also lamented the absence of state governors in the meeting to present their offers, as their representatives said they had no mandate. However, it was gathered that the meeting will reconvene today by 4 pm. According to sources, labour leaders insisted that the Federal Government has not made an offer and that it appears the government is not serious.
