UBA BEING HELD FOR CRIMINAL LIBEL, THREAT TO STATE SECURITY - IMO GOVT

The Imo State government has debunked the speculation that it ordered the arrest of a radio presenter. Mr. Nonso Uba because of his criticism of the Governor Hope Uzodimma administration.                     It explained that rather the police in Abuja arrested him on allegations of criminal libel bordering on threat to state security.                The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba, in a statement in Owerri, regretted that commentators have been blinded by emotions, such that they have completely ignored the alleged offence of the radio presenter.                      He noted that neither the style of his arrest nor the contents of his radio programmes was the issue, but the defamatory statement by Mr. Uba that Governor Hope Uzodimma and Alhaji Asari Dokubo were responsible for the killings in Imo State....

Imo Politicians and the Insecurity, Campaign Promises

By Barr. Obidike Nwagwu Insecurity seems to have become a selling topic for everybody campaigning to remove the Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma from office come 2023. From their radio jingles to their campaign promises, everybody claims to hold the key to ending insecurity in Imo State. It has become their only campaign promise. Nobody is campaigning about good roads; Uzodimma has already solved that. Nobody is campaigning about youth development and empowerment; Uzodimma has already done that. Nobody cares about the health sector; Uzodimma has already offered free healthcare through the Imo Social Security Scheme. Nobody is talking about agriculture, social development, transportation because Gov Hope Uzodimma seems to have all those covered and there's nothing bad they can say about him in those areas. The only campaign tool they have has become insecurity; using the lives and safety of our people for their selfish political aspirations. But these desperate politicians ...

Order to stop Sit at home; Family confirms Kanu’s handwriting as Ekpa doubts letter

The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu’s family has confirmed that the handwritten letter displayed by Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor that ended sit-at-home in the south east was actually written by Nnamdi Kanu. This was as the self-styled Prime Minister of Biafra, Simon Ekpa has declared that the letter did not emanate from Kanu. On Friday, Kanu’s Special Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor had addressed a world press conference where he displayed a handwritten letter from Kanu ending all sit-at-homes in the southeast. But in a swift reaction, Simon Ekpa through his verified Twitter handle said, “Our attention has been drawn to the fake letter from the pit of hell being paraded by Nigeria media claiming that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wrote a letter. “It is not only a joke but an insult taking too far that the leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra is being misrepresented in this way. “As the Prime Minister of Biafra under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, i call on all Bia...

The Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has cleared the air over the insinuation from different quarters stressing that the, let the poor breath statement on the floor of the Senate was intended to mock poor Nigerians.  In a statement made available by the media unit of the senate president to this newspaper, stressed that the Senate President is deeply concerned about the pains Nigerians are passing through and frowned at the wrong interpretation given to the statement.  "We are deeply concerned about the negative tilting of a very harmless statement by President of the Senate,  Godswill Akpabio, about his deep concern and that of the Senate on the plight of the ordinary Nigerians as a result of the prevailing economic situation in the country." MAGNIFYING EFFECTS OF GOVERNOR UZODIMMA'S UNIFYING SPIRIT ACROSS THE SOUTH EAST

The statement, "connecting the south east to the national political grid" has been the focal point of Governor Hope Uzodimma's drive in uniting the Leaders and People of the region. He has prosecuted this by projecting the ideals and objectives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) party to the region and thankfully, the embrace has given rise to a number of developmental initiatives and projects in the region. Sentimentally, as always referenced, the Ministerial List transmitted to the Senate by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has displayed the unison with which His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, is driving the new face of South East and Nigeria at large. Beyond the lyrics of critics and rhythms of rabble-rousers, it is honourable to acknowledge and commend the Governor for his efforts in the actualisation of this connection to the central Government. Interestingly, the nominees are technocrats that have achieved verifiable track records in their various p...
