LOSS OF SUPPLY IN IMO STATE

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers in Imo State that the loss of supply currently being experienced is as a result of the industrial action by the organised labour union in Imo State. This led to the shutting down of our source of supply, leaving us with no energy to distribute.  As a result, all our customers under in Imo State are without electricity supply.  We understand the inconveniences this situation will cause our customers, and we are hopeful that the issue will be resolved within the shortest possible time so we can restore supply to our customers.  We therefore appeal to our customers to be vigilant and ensure the electricity infrastructure serving them are not attacked by vandals who might want to take advantage of the situation to attack and vandalise electricity facilities.  We remain committed and working assiduously to deliver improved services. Attacks on Igbos in Lagos: Fani-Kayode, others must be arrested - Ohanaeze

Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has described the continuous attacks on the Igbos residing in Lagos State as unacceptable. The Igbo group was reacting to the arson on Akere market, dominated by Igbo traders. POLICE ARRESTS FORMER IMO DEPUTY GOVERNOR

In a recent development, the police have arrested the former Deputy Governor of Imo State, Hon. Gerald Irona, over allegations of converting government-owned vehicles into personal use. The vehicles in question includes a Land Cruiser V8, Land Cruiser V5, and a Toyota Hilux. According to sources, the arrest of Hon. Gerald Irona was made following a petition by the state government which an order of arrest was granted by the High/Magistrate, who had alleged proved evidences that he had converted the government-owned vehicles into his personal use after leaving office. The vehicles were said to have been acquired with public funds for official use during his tenure as Deputy Governor. The arrest of Hon. The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has restated its support for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Enugu State, Barr. Peter Mbah. National President of the OYC, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike said Mbah is the most competent among all the candidates standing for the election. Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah receive certificate of return from INEC

The senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District on Tuesday received his certificate of return from the Independent National Electoral Commission. The issuance of certificates which was done in Abuja, the nation’s capital with relatives and supporters of the lawmaker- elect, coming out emasse to celebrate the Prince of the Senate for returning back to the 10th Senate.  INEC had last week declared Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah candidate of the Young Progressives Party, YPP  the winner of Anambra South senatorial election after polling 73, 115 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Wike Mocks Atiku Over Protest To INEC Headquarters

  Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has mocked the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, for leading the party’s leaders on a protest march to the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the outcome of the February 25 presidential election. The Apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has come hard on the Senator-elect for Enugu North Senatorial zone, Barr.
