A group known as IMO COALITION FOR JUSTICE, PEACE & TRUE DEMOCRACY, through its secretary Ahumareze Ikechukwu has called out the former governor Imo state over the alleged siphoning of funds from the State-Local Government Joint Accounts Allocation Committee (JAAC), under his watch . The group in a statement in Owerri said that, It has come to their attention the attitude of EMEKA IHEDIOHA in trying to delay and deny justice against the probe of his illegitimate administration of 8 months. The Imo state Police Conmand has obtained a warrant of arrest from a court of competent jurisdiction in the state to arrest Messrs Chief Kingsley Ufere, Chief Batos Nwadike, His Excellency Gerald Ịrona, Hon. Jones Onyereri and Chief Obinna Duruaku for converting government property in their possession to personal use. In different warrants of arrest obtained by the commissioner of police, Imo State Command sited by this reported, the state police chief said they should be arrested anywhere seen in the state or country. In the case of Chief Kingsley Ufere and Chief Batos Nwadike, the police commissioner accused them of converting "one (two) Toyota Hilux 2019 model, property of Imo State government to your personal use" while that of Hon. Jones Onyereri and Chief Obinna Duruaku were conversion of two Ford Rangers, properties of Imo State government to their personal uses and that of His Excellency Gerald Irona was for the possession and illegal conversation of one Land Cruiser ...

Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and his team have perfected plans to break the ranks of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. Also, strong indications emerged that Governor Wike and those sympathetic to his cause may be settling for former Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, as a replacement for the PDP National Chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, if their plans scale through.   The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers of a system collapse which occurred  at 10:51am today, 26th September,2022. This has resulted to the loss of supply currently being experienced across the network. Due to this development, all our interface TCN stations are out of supply, and we are unable to provide service to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States. We are on standby awaiting detailed information of the collapse and restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC), Osogbo.

Imo State is yet again enjoying dividends of Democracy from the Federal Government through the interventions of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma as the President has approved the construction of a 10Mwatts Hydropower Generating Plant at Otamiri and Nworie Rivers. EIGHT ARRESTED FOR VANDALISM The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has attributed the service disruptions experienced in some parts of its network to activities of vandals, even as it confirmed the apprehension of eight suspected vandals for their involvement in the attack of electrical installations belonging to EEDC. This disclosure was made on Thursday through a statement issued by the Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh. In the statement, Ezeh lamented bitterly on how the increasing rate of vandalism has adversely affected the company’s service delivery to its customers. He also commended the support of critical stakeholders and the various vigilante groups in nipping this ugly trend in the bud, even as he confirmed that most of the arrests were made by the vigilant groups. The Imo State Government has called for the arrest and questioning of one Ikenga Ugochinyere for claiming that Voter Registration in Omuma, the home Ward of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State was inflated with fictitious names. The Imo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon. Declan Emelumba made the call on Friday September 16, 2022 during a media conference that "ignoring the spurious and seditious outburst of Ugochinyere will amount to condoning criminality."
