ANAMBRA GOVT TO PARTNER WHO ON STRATEGIC AREAS IN HEALTH SECTOR

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR has expressed readiness of the state government to partner the World Health Organization, WHO in providing quality and affordable healthcare to Ndi Anambra. The Governor made the disclosure when he received in audience, the WHO representative in Nigeria, Dr. Walter Mulombo who embarked on the visit with members of his team at the Governor's Lodge in Amawbia  According to Professor Soludo, his administration is committed to having a healthy and productive population, pointing out that WHO has a pivotal role to play in that regard. Governor Soludo who stressed that his administration had begun to deliver a bit of the agenda as contained in his manifesto, pleaded with the visiting WHO representative to add Anambra in its huge agenda and assistance to states. GOV. UZODIMMA CALLS FOR RESTORATION OF CONFIDENCE IN THE PROCESS OF LAND ALLOCATION IN THE STATE

Governor Hope Uzodimma has called for the restoration of confidence in the process of land allocation in the State. The Governor made this call today during the inauguration of 11-man Committee members of Imo Land Use Allocation at the Government House Exco Chamber, Owerri. "Given our recent unsavoury history where one family took advantage of their position of authority and attempted to appropriate most of the choice properties in the state, this Committee must endeavour to restore confidence in the process of land allocation in Imo State", Uzodimma stated. Imo Vigilante not responsible for Okporo killings- Imo Govt

Imo State Government has declared that the state controlled vigilante was not responsible for the recent killing of three family members in Okporo, Orlu local government area. The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Hon Declan Emelumba in a statement in Owerri deplored the allegation making the rounds that the vigilante carried out the killing. He said it was ironical that the vigilante being accused of the killing actually took the wounded to the hospital when they were informed of the attack. He described as unfortunate and provocative the haste with which enemies of the state government rush to the press to level accusations against it to score cheap political points. Uzodimma Never advocated Muslim- Muslim presidential ticket,says Imo Govt

Imo State Government has debunked the claim by some media outlets that Gov Hope Uzodimma  advocated a Muslim- Muslim ticket for the presidential candidate of APC. The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Declan Emelumba in a statement in Owerri on Wednesday (June 15th) said at no time did the governor canvass such a position. He said rather, Uzodimma was emphatic that religion was not mentioned as a factor in the Constitution for the election of a President or his Vice. But he added that what the country needed was a good government that will accommodate the religious and ethnic diversity of the country. EEDC REACTS TO A NEWS PUBLICATION IN “THE RAZOR”

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has reacted to a news report which broke in an online newspaper - “The Razor”, with the headline “CRAZY BILLS: ANAMBRA CONSUMERS PROTEST AGAINST EEDC”, in respect of a purported protest by Landlords and residents of Okpoko, in Ogbaru Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Tuesday. This was contained in a reaction made today by the Head of Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh.   Ezeh expressed surprise as there was no protest by any such group on Tuesday at any of EEDC offices in Ogabru, Anambra State. “I wonder what form this purported protest took, as there was no such situation at any of our offices in Ogbaru”, Ezeh affirmed. Uzodinma meets Buhari, discuss security matters concerning Imo

  After the post-convention meeting yesterday between the Progressive Governors and President Muhammadu Buhari, I had a private official discussion with Mr President over State matters and sundry issues. Prominent on our discussion was the recorded achievements, so far, on the security situation in our dear State and my continual appeal for Federal Government's intervention in some infrastructural projects within the State. Mr President expressed happiness over the restoration of peace within the State while praying for its sustenance. He also, reassured of Federal Government's partnership with the State as we explore our potentials for development. DEMOCRACY IS A CONTINUOUS STRUGGLE - SOLUDO

Governor Chukwuma Soludo, CFR, says democracy all over the world is a continuous struggle towards a better society. Governor Soludo stated this during a special mass to mark Nigeria's June 12 Democracy Day Celebration at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia. The Governor hinted that nation building is a consequence of struggle for class, social or otherwise. He said that values such as focus, determination and perseverance are indispensable in this kind of struggle. According to Governor Soludo, there is no perfect society anywhere in the world, accounting for various contestations and contradictions, adding however that they bring out the best in the society. EEDC NOTIFIES CUSTOMERS OF RESTORATION OF SUPPLY

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers that it has since commenced restoration of its outgoing feeders, following the restoration of the National grid which collapsed yesterday evening, However, due to the low energy allocation to EEDC, occasioned by the poor generation, some of our feeders are currently put on System Loadshedding by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). We therefore thank our esteemed customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States for their support and understanding during the period we lost supply, while assuring them of our continued commitment towards providing improved services.
