Following the prompt rescue and evacuation of Imo State Students from Jos, the Plateau State capital, the Imo State Government last night received the students as they arrived Owerri, the State Capital. Recall that the city of Jos was struck by crisis which necessitated the prompt rescue of Imolites stranded and wishing to be evacuated. This number largely fell on the category of students and the Imo State Government swung into action to effect their rescue. Irrespective of their final destination, those desirous of rescue were evacuated and taken to a safe departure point while others arrived Owerri last night and received at the Government House by the Deputy Governor, Prof. Placid Njoku, on behalf of the state Government. The Court of Appeal Enugu Division has today, Wednesday, August 25, 2021, adjourned its ruling on the appeal brought before it by Mr Valentine Ozigbo and the Peoples Democratic Party against Senator Ugochukwu Uba & two others.   Recall that on July 5, 2021, Senator Ugochukwu Uba, who did not participate in the PDP primary, instituted a suit against the PDP, its candidate, Valentine Ozigbo and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), wherein he challenged Ozigbo’s candidature for the November 6, 2021 governorship election.
