NO LICENCE HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR 5G IN NIGERIA- Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami

In a press release made available to this newspaper, the Honorable Minister for Communications and  Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has drawn the attention of Nigerians about the public concern relating to the health implications, with regards to the deployment of Fifth Generation Mobile Networks (5G) in Nigeria. Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), has through Ismaila Y K Its National PRO, noticed with dismay, the highhandedness of some security agencies who have been caught on tape manhandling journalists. He said that the only crime committed by these journalists is that they dared the odds to remain in the streets to report COVID-19 response across Nigeria in a selfless show of patriotism. It is particularly shocking that instead of commendation, the Nigerian journalists are being battered in clear breach of their rights as professionals going about their national service. Femi Fani-Kayode, former Aviation Minister, says online reports that the Chief of Staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari, has died is not true. Social media was agog on Thursday April 2nd with the news that Kyari who is currently being treated for Coronvirus, had passed on. FFK says the story is untrue and blasted those peddling it. Taking to his Twitter handle to react, he wrote; “It is not true that Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff to @MBuhari, is dead. Those that are behind that rumour are vicious and heartless. I remain opposed to the @MBuhari admin. but to wish or proclaim someone dead simply because you disagree with him politically is unacceptable.” As at the time of filling in this report, the presidency is yet to come out with an official statement of the health of Abba Kayri, President Buhari Chief of Staff, who tested positive to corona virus some days ago.

Ndi Anambra, we thank God that there is no recorded case of Coronavirus yet in the state as at 2nd April, 2020, and we pray and hope that it remains so. However, we all need to prepare for any eventuality. Ndi Anambra MUST play their own part by obeying WHO, federal and state governments’ coronavirus advisory and directives for example, staying at home, washing our hands regularly with soap for 20 seconds each time, using hand sanitizers, stopping handshakes, hugs and kisses, maintaining social distances with people (6 feet), avoiding public gatherings, obeying boundary closure directive etc. Anambra State Government is doing its bit too.
