The Senior Special  Assistant to governor Willie Obiano, on Information, strategy and communication, says he is hopeful that INEC is prepared and ready for tomorrow's general elections in Nigeria and Anambra state, in particular. Chief Kingsley Moghalu, presidential candidate of the Young People’s Party (YPP),has maintained that the endorsement of a particular candidate by Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo is in vain, and will not amount to the voting partner of Igbo bloc votes in the coming presidential election on Saturday. Moghalu disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, on Wednesday in Awka. No fewer than 7 persons were confirmed dead and one remaining victim moved to intensive care unit of NAUTH when a tanker with petrol fell at Amawbia Roundabout in Awka and went up in flames last night. Nigerian Notch, correspondent in Awka who went to the scene gathered that at least eight vehicles and some residential buildings within the vicinity were also destroyed in the inferno. The fire occurred in front of the Amawbia Fire Service and near the Police Headquarters, Anambra Governor’s Lodge and other public buildings. Hospital management told our reporter that Dorothy, who said she hail from Izzi in Ebonyi State, entered the maternity ward of the hospital in the morning hours of Wednesday, and claimed that Happiness Mmadu was her sister. According to the source, a nurse went to dress the maternity bed where the twins were lying only to discover that one of the twin babies was no more there. Police authorities in Anambra Sate have assured that the body will maintain neutrality and professionalism in the 2019 general elections in the state. The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Baba Umar Garba, gave the assurance on Wednesday, January 30, at the state headquarters in Awka, during an important meeting of  critical election stakeholders in preparation for the 2019 general election.
