The Anambra State Police Command has launched a new operation, "Operation Udo Ga Chi," aimed at eradicating kidnapping and other violent crimes in the state. The Anambra State Police Command has successfully contained a shooting incident in Ukwulu, preventing further escalation. The incident occurred on April 12, 2025, and was reportedly sparked by a disagreement between siblings. The command's PPRO SP Ikenga Tochukwu said operatives from the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu quickly responded to the scene, rescuing a victim with a gunshot injury and recovering ,One AK47 rifle, One pistol, Six rounds of live ammunition and has also made arrests of two suspects apprehended at the scene He said that there is an underway preliminary investigations which revealed that the victim and the armed suspect, who had sought assistance from another individual, are brothers with a history of serious misunderstandings. A leaked memo has revealed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's plan to draft Senator Al Makura, a close ally of former President Muhammadu Buhari, to persuade the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) bloc to remain in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
