Anambra Police Command Launches Operation Udo Ga Chi to Combat Kidnapping

The Anambra State Police Command has launched Operation Udo Ga Chi, a joint security initiative aimed at eradicating kidnapping in the state. Following the launch the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, has set up a monitoring team to ensure operatives comply with operational orders and maintain civility.

Yesterday, the Anambra state command set up a monitoring team headed home by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge it Criminal investigations department Awka, DCP Mantu Chong mni to ensure that officers are civil and do comply with the operational order, and can be reached on 07030871026.

The operation includes a window for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and community policing principles. The police command encourages the public to report security concerns and request assistance through designated contact numbers.

CP Orutugu however expressed gratitude to the state government and stakeholders for their support and appreciated the sacrifices of police and security agencies in nipping the bud serious crimes like armed robbery, kidnapping, and other related situations, especially with the Easter period and beyond. 


The CP said that the Anambra Police Command shall continue to review the operations as it progresses and explore strategies to improve safety and security in the State.
