Tragedy Averted: FRSC Attributes Oraifite-Onitsha Road Crash to Excessive Speed

A devastating crash involving three vehicles occurred on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at approximately 9:50 AM along the Oraifite-Onitsha road near Nwazota Oraifite Junction. Fortunately, there were no fatalities, but three individuals were injured in the incident.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra State Command has warned motorists and other road users to avoid excessive speeding and any conditions that could compromise their safety on the road. Corps Commander Joyce Nnennaya Alexander issued this advice following the crash, which involved a green Daf commercial truck, a Toyota Camry, and a Sino truck.

According to eyewitness accounts, the driver of the Sino truck was driving at high speed, lost control, and collided with the Camry, which was waiting at a T-junction for another truck to pass. The impact pushed the Camry into the other truck, causing the crash.

FRSC officials arrived at the scene and took the injured victims to Josephine & Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Ifite Oraifite. Traffic control measures were implemented, and the Command contacted tow truck operators to clear the obstruction caused by the crash and restore traffic flow.

The Sector Commander has urged all road users to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent crashes and ensure safe travel to their destinations. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible driving habits and the need for motorists to exercise caution on the roads.
