Anambra State Commissioner of Police Embarks on Proactive Security Patrol

In a demonstration of his commitment to maintaining law and order, the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, led a security patrol within the state on March 31, 2025. The patrol was part of the command's efforts to ensure public safety and deter crime.

During the patrol, CP Orutugu visited the scene of a recent fire incident at Ifejirika by Nwangene, Onitsha. He assessed the situation and ensured that deployed personnel were complying with their duties to maintain order and public safety. The CP also proposed a meeting with marketers, warehouse owners, and stakeholders to prevent similar incidents.

In another development, the CP visited the Fegge Divisional Police Headquarters, where he interviewed suspects and directed the immediate release of two individuals allegedly held over minor offenses.

The Onitsha Bus Drivers Association pledged support to the police command to improve security and safety in Onitsha, particularly with the return of economic activities in the town.

CP Orutugu also visited the head of the Northern community in Anambra, emphasizing the importance of fostering unity among residents regardless of ethnic background.

The patrol covered strategic areas, including the Main Market Divisional Headquarters, Building Materials, Onitsha Headbridge, and other locations. The command will continue to explore community policing principles to build trust between the police and the public.
