Prince Jude Osumuoh Gets Normination As Preferred Candidate For Nzuko-Ora Nnewi Presidency

--As Ibeto Urges Support For Osumuoh's Candidature

Umunnofor Community - Otolo Nnewi, whose turn it is to produce Nzuko-Ora Nnewi President General upon expiration of the current leadership, has nominated Prince Jude Osumuoh as its choice candidate for the position.

Jude Osumuoh, current Vice President of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, former national chairman of Ndiakwu-Otolo Nnewi, and former President of Nnewi Chamber of Commerce, contested against Edwin Chukwuma, a lecturer at Paul University, Awka, Anambra State.

But the community opined that it would be wise to conduct an internal plebiscite to decide within themselves one of the two prominent sons of theirs to present to Nnewi for that position.

In a election decided at the weekend in Otolo, by Umunnofor delegates, Jude Osumuoh polled a total of thirty (30) votes to emerge winner; against Edwin Chukwuma, who got eight (8) votes.

Announcing the results after the secret ballot election, Chairman of Nnofor, Comerade John Ezizu, commended the delegates for conducting themselves peacefully throughout exercise.

He said that with the results, Jude Osumuoh has become their candidate for Nzuko-Ora Nnewi presidency; adding that his name would be presented to the general assembly of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi at the appropriate time.

Ezizu, however, suggested that the exercise was not meant to discourage anybody from running for the position, but to save cost and manage any possible internal strife.

He said that the plebiscite was not the final bus stop, since the other aspirant could feel free to present himself for election at the general assembly of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, if he was not satisfied with the exercise.

Reacting to the development, the chairman of Ibeto Group, Chief Dr. Cletus Ibeto, commended Umunnofor for taking the wise step.

In a telephone conversation, Ibeto expressed the belief that Prince Osumuoh will bring his wealth of experience to bear in the administration of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, if elected.
