In a bid to address the long-standing issues posed by cattle grazing in Anambra State, the new Commissioner of Police in the state Ikioye Orutugu has announced plans to resuscitate the Cattle Menace Committee. This decision comes on the heels of a courtesy visit by the Hausa/Fulani Community to his office in Awka today.
The Committee, which aims to mitigate conflicts between herders and local communities, will focus on resolving issues such as crop destruction, accidents, and stray cattle. Commissioner Orutugu assured residents that the Command will take proactive steps to address all security concerns in the State.
Reviving the Committee is expected to promote a safer and more harmonious coexistence between different communities in Anambra State. This move demonstrates the Commissioner's commitment to finding solutions to the State's security challenges.
