Anambra Police Arrest Suspect with Locally Fabricated Pistol

In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have arrested a suspect in possession of a locally fabricated Beretta pistol. The arrest was made during a routine foot patrol in Upper-Iweka, Onitsha, on February 18, 2025, at approximately 8:00 PM.

The suspect, identified as Orji Chigozie 'M', was found with the pistol concealed inside a bag. Preliminary investigations suggest that Chigozie may be involved in criminal activities in the area.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, for further investigation and necessary legal action. This arrest is part of the Anambra State Police Command's intensified security measures to ensure the safety and security of residents. 

The command urges members of the public to continue providing useful information to aid law enforcement efforts in tackling crime. This collaborative approach has led to several successes in the past, including the arrest of suspected cultists and recovery of arms.

The Anambra State Police Command remains committed to maintaining law and order in the state, and this latest arrest demonstrates their dedication to keeping communities safe.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid.
