Anambra APC Raises Alarm Over Tinubu's Appointment Style

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has expressed concern over President Bola Tinubu's appointment style, which they claim is discouraging party members in the state. According to the state chairman, Hon. Sir Basil Ejidike, the federal government's appointments without consulting the party are detrimental to the APC's growth and success in Anambra.

Ejidike noted that many of those appointed to juicy positions are non-party members, mostly from the rival All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). This trend, he said, has not inspired or motivated party members, and is threatening the party's chances of winning the November 8, 2025 governorship election.

The APC chairman also alleged that the APGA-led government in Anambra discriminates against non-APGA members in the distribution of government appointments and incentives. He cited an instance where bags of rice sent as palliatives by the federal government were repackaged with Governor Soludo's picture and APGA logo, giving the impression that they were provided by the governor.

Ejidike called on the national chairman of the party to intervene in the issue, assuring that the Anambra APC will continue to work hard to achieve the party's objectives. He praised the national chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, for his leadership, saying that the APC under his guidance means serious business and has recorded significant successes in elections nationwide.

Ganduje, who attended the official opening ceremony of the APC office in Awka, commended the party in Anambra State, saying they are ready to take over from the ruling APGA. He assured that his leadership will provide a level playing ground for all aspirants and address the concerns of the Anambra APC.
