Rivers Indigenes Cry Foul Over Alleged Imposition of Senator John Mbata on Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide By PDP & Gov Fubara

With less than 24 hours to the Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Presidency Election, a storm is brewing as Rivers State concerned indigenes have raised alarm over the alleged imposition of Senator John Mbata on Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide by Governor Fubara and the PDPl,this is coming at the heels of their failure to impose Mike Okiro.  Chief Azunda Chukwu, a respected leader from Obi Akpo LGA, has condemned this move, citing information from the Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Secretariat in Enugu. He said " how can he ( Sen.John Mbata) be allowed to pick up a form for an election that is billed to happen tomorrow, that is totally unacceptable, we will not accept that as time has elasped for such. I am also bittered that the government and governor of Rivers state, Mr SIM Fubara is allowing himself to be used to meddle in the affairs of Ndigbo"

According to Chief Chukwu, it is unfortunate that Hon. Sam Anya, Commissioner of Non-Indigenes in Rivers State, was sent by Governor Fubara to collect the nomination form for Senator Mbata, despite the expiration of the deadline for form collection. This move is perceived as an attempt to hijack the Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Presidency Election, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Chief Chukwu emphasized that Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide and the Igbo community should resist any form of intimidation from government quarters and demand a peaceful election so that delegates will choose who will pilot the affairs of the association, since it's the consistutuional right of Rivers state to produce the next president of the Apex Igbo Association. He stressed that the presidency election is not a party affair and should not be hijacked by the PDP.

The Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide Presidency Election has generated significant interest, with Rivers State Igbo stakeholders demanding the presidency, citing the rotational chairmanship and zoning arrangement. However, the alleged imposition of Senator Mbata has raised concerns about the fairness and transparency of the electoral process, and the concerned Rivers Indigenes are calling for transprancy to avoid the disruption of the Election tommorow.
