In a daring operation, a Joint Security Team comprising the Police, Military, and other Security Agencies successfully neutralized an armed secessionist gang in Ufuma, Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State. The operation, which took place on January 14, 2025, at 12:30 pm, resulted in the neutralization of five gang members, while others escaped with bullet wounds. During the operation, the security team razed down the criminal camp and recovered a cache of arms and explosives, including four undetonated improvised explosive devices (IEDs), two AK47 assault rifles, one pump action gun, and one 75-volt battery. The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has called for greater cooperation from the public, urging citizens to take back their space and deny criminal elements the opportunity to cause tension in the state.
