Former Police Boss, Simon Okeke, Urges South East Governors to Unite for Nnamdi Kanu's Release

....Asks for Rivers State to be given the opportunity to Led Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide as agreed

In a recent media interactive session, Chief Simon Okeke, former Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), emphasized the need for unity among South East governors to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu. Okeke, who expressed concern over the state of the nation, believes that if the five South East governors can present a united front to President Tinubu, Kanu's release would be a likely outcome.

Okeke, a renowned politician and former chairman of the PSC from 2001 to 2006, also highlighted the marginalization of the South East zone in Nigeria especially as it relates to appointment of ministers. He noted that the country's tripod structure, comprising the North, West, and East, has been compromised, with the East (Igbo) leg being "broken." Okeke emphasized that until all zones are treated equally, the country will continue to struggle.

The former police boss advised the South East governors to pool their resources together to drive development in the zone. He also called for investment in industries and other developmental efforts to create employment opportunities.

On the Ohanaeze Ndigbo's President General election, Okeke stated that it was the turn of Rivers State to produce the next president, as per the organization's rotational policy. He pledged to support a candidate who truly represents the Igbo people and fights for their interests.

Okeke commended Governor Soludo's efforts to develop Anambra State but urged him to prioritize security and provide adequate resources to the police. He also expressed his condolences on the passing of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, describing it as a significant loss to the people of Anambra South.

Tension In Uruagu Nnewi As Community Leaders Dare Soludo,Defy Court Order
