CHIEF ONUNKWO EMERGES ONE OF 21 ANAMBRA STAR ROLE MODELS FOR 2024

The youth wing of Association of Anambra State Town Unions, ASATU, yesterday, Tuesday, January 14, 2025, presented the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Seahorse Lubricants Industries ltd, Chief (Dr) Ebuka Onunkwo with an award as one of the twenty one overall Star Role Models for the year 2024. Chief Onunkwo won the position for Ekwusigo LGA.

The nomination, which stemmed from a competition instituted by ASATU youth with members cutting across the twenty one local government areas of Anambra State, saw Chief Ebuka Onunkwo and twenty others emerge as the winners of the contest.

According to a letter of confirmation signed by President General of ASATU Youth body in Anambra state Comrade Ken Okoli:

"We are happy to inform you that after your nomination for the community Youth Development Award from your community youths, there was a competition for A Star Role Model Award for all nominees from every community in every local government area of Anambra State. On the 14th of December 2024, we unveiled the list of 21 Star Role Models for the 21 LGAs from the 179 Role Models and you made the list"

"The screening committee examined the results submitted on community Youth Development Activities by the nominees and your contributions ranked number 1 "

"As a result, you are selected for recognition as the Star Role Model for the Youths " the letter concluded.

Other awardees were High Chief (Dr) Chinedu Umeadi for Njikoka LGA, High Chief (Dr) Christopher Ndubisi for Awka South LGA, Barrister Emmanuel Chibuzor for Onitsha South LGA, Rev. Fr. Chibuzor Obimma for Oyi LGA, to mention but a few.

Receiving the award on behalf of Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, Hon Ikenna Offordeme, Majority Leader, Anambra State House of Assembly while thanking the group for the honour reiterated Onunkwo's enduring passion for youth empowerment and pledged his unwavering support for the group.

It would be recalled that Chief (Dr) Ebuka Onunkwo recently donated 10 million naira for scholarship to indigent Anambra youths during an APGA youth programme and offered employment opportunities to 10 accountants in his company, Seahorse Lubricants Industries Ltd.

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. Prominent Leaders Pay Tribute to Late Sen Ifeanyi Ubah, at Anambra Community Candlelight Procession in Awka
