The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has informed her esteemed customers of a general system collapse that occurred at 18:48 hours today, 14th October, 2024, this was made known to our correspondent by  Emeka Ezeh, the  Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC. He said the collapse has resulted in the loss of supply currently being experienced across EEDC network in the South East.  Consequently, EEDC says that due to this development, all their interface TCN stations are out of supply, and they presently unable to provide services to our customers in Abia, Anambra,  Ebonyi,  Enugu, and Imo States. The presidency has refuted claims that the country was snubbed in the recent United Nations Human Rights Council elections. The clarification comes in response to circulating reports suggesting Nigeria’s exclusion from the council. According to Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, “contrary to information circulating, Nigeria was not snubbed in this election, as some reports have falsely claimed.” He emphasised that “the country did not stand as a candidate for this cycle of elections.” Onanuga explained that on October 9, 2024, the UN General Assembly elected 18 members to the Human Rights Council for the 2025-2027 term.
