Unmasking the Truth: The Anambra APC Debacle and the Mysterious Death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah - Hon Kamen Chuks Ogbonna

In the last two days, I have faced all manner of blackmail on various social media platforms from some media influencers on Mr Paul Chukwuma's payroll as well as Mr Dozie Ikedife's personal assistant, one Lotanna.

Their game plan is to use their subtle insinuations and divisive tactics to put the late Senator's media team in disarray, in order to achieve their selfish interest. 

Many of the members of late Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah's political family (the real ones, not the later-day interlopers), are still trying to make sense of our APC misadventure that lasted a few months and took away our principal under very questionable circumstances.

While we took over the entire media space and made herculean efforts to whitewash and fumigate the putrid smell that the Anambra chapter of the party represents to the people of the state, we were too engrossed with the good results we were gradually getting and never realised the fact that we got surrounded by vampires whose interests were way different from ours.

I give it to them, these men are very good political actors, so good that I never saw through their script until an eye-opening event occurred. While I was sitting inside the church wondering how we got here and how a Principal who was bubbling with health when he left me, is now lying lifeless inside a coffin, someone asked an innocent question out of befuddlement and surprise; "Why is Mr Paul Chukwuma the one taking a reading at Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah's funeral service ?"

Now let me ask this question, "If Late Ifeanyi were to choose who would take readings at his death, would he choose a Paul Chukwuma?" The same Paul Chukwuma that he personally visited in the United Kingdom to inform of his governorship aspirations under the APC and also asked him whether he was interested in contesting and Mr Paul's response was an emphatic NO! They even exchanged ideas and the Street General gleefully told him all his plans and strategies. Mr Paul Chukwuma assured Senator Ubah that he would summon a meeting for him when he returned to Nigeria to help him get soft sailing in the Anambra State Chapter of the party. Since, according to him, it was clear that the presidency had chosen him as the man that would turn around the fortunes of the party in the state given his organic followership and shining track records.

Mr Paul Chukwuma, upon his return to Nigeria, called a meeting of the party but, not only told them that he was personally contesting for governor. He also referred them to the events of the last APC outing in the state, when the NWC of the party was said to have imposed Senator Andy Uba on them as Guber candidate, alleging that such was about to be repeated in the party. He told the party faithful to stand their ground and plot ahead to deflate the alleged ploy. He ended by saying that there would not be any imposition from Abuja on them...

I was with Ebubechukwuzo when I saw the news of his declaration being reported by Paul Chukwuma's media team and upon showing him the news with my mobile phone,I witnessed first-hand how shocked to his marrow he was, and how disgusted he became with the man. He later coined a nickname for him from that day that has to do with hairstyle and Ponzi. 

Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah quickly summoned his kitchen cabinet and we went into a strategy meeting where it was decided that if we could achieve electoral victories with little-known YPP back to back, then we could also do it with the delegates of the APC as far as they were Ndi Anambra who were privy to Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah's record as a human capital development specialist, the type that genuinely wants the betterment of society. A man whose Maker had blessed so much from childhood that he could have comfortably chosen a life of comfort for himself and his family and, even without working again in his life, would still live in opulence till at least two generations after him. Yes, Ifeanyi Ubah was that wealthy! And much of it came when he was still in his early twenties. By 38, he had a private jet and when he clocked forty, the entire nation stood still in celebration.

Back to the topic, the man who manipulated Mr Paul Chukwuma into the burial programme by reading sermon during the church service was the same man who cleverly worked his way into becoming the chairman of the Local Organizing committee of the burial, Mr Dozie Ikedife (Jnr).

My next series if they don't learn from this one will be to throw light on the shenanigans that played out during the funeral and the reason why they abandoned the event on the second day and disappeared back to Abuja. Ask yourself this question, did you see Mr Ikedife at the outing Church service for the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah as the chairman of the LOC that he was? 

While I was torn between walking up to the altar to snatch the microphone from Mr Chukwuma and wondering why politicians walk about with zero conscience, something dramatic happened during that church service to demonstrate the fact that even in death, Ikemba remains a warrior! Mr Ikedife's phone got stolen inside the church. He bought that phone during the few months of political alliance with the late Senator and it is gold plated. 

I have been warned by many not to do this response, with some of them asking me whether I was not aware of a certain kind of reputation that one of them has, the reason why he always consistently loses elections in his own ward. I do not care.

Many UbahNation followers all over the world are still asking Ndi Anambra APC what happened to the Mercedes Maybach we gave them to manage after a mere few months and how its engine suddenly knocked without any prior sign of distress.

How can a Mercedes Maybach that we had been cruising with back-to-back for years with a good engine, suddenly pack up under your care in just a few months? And barely two months after his burial, you are already placing his pictures behind your poster in an effort to take his place at the Red Chambers?

With the posters also bearing the campaign phrase that I personally coined, the "Orazulume philosophy", which the Senator then sold to his APC advisory council headed by Mr Ikedife. Let's not forget that the reason for setting up this advisory team, was for them to bring strategies to counter Mr Paul Chukwuma's in the contest for the APC ticket.  

Within a few weeks of politicking by this advisory council, they quickly succeeded in separating the late Senator from his would-be deputy, a woman of substance whose track record of love for Ndi Anambra is well known- Distinguished Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom).  

Today, in a clear exhibition of the craziness of politics, the same advisory council that spent most of their strategy meetings with the late senator, hauling invectives and abuses at Mr Paul Chukwuma have immediately closed ranks with him the moment the late Senator got committed to mother earth.

The real Ifeanyi Ubah political structure has continued to express surprise at the speed of recent developments. We thought these men and women were with us. How come they have suddenly merged and are now acting more Catholic than the Pope? How come the hitherto opposing camps have now merged and started professing so much love for Ifeanyi Ubah because they want to also reap from his popularity even in death? 

And we ask again; what actually happened to the man bubbling with so much life and swag that we left in "una" care for just a few months?

I used the word "una" to capture both Ikedife and his team as well as Mr Paul Chukwuma and his team because it is now obvious with the benefit of hindsight that this collaboration didn't start after the death but was well hidden from public view. POLITICS! 

Late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah's political family is not naive and foolish like they assume, even if we appear gentle and calm. The only difference is that we, the political family, were following our principal with so much love and practically adored him because of the rare gem that he was. 

In the course of the two back-to-back victories with the YPP, we, the members of the kitchen cabinet, would sneak away from his parlour once he closes his eyes to take a nap after a long day once we return in the wee hours of the morning, despite the fact that it is common knowledge that his heart was so soft that he would have preferred to solve the problems of the world on a 24-hour basis, if allowed. We refused to allow him over-work himself.

But this advisory council just had to deprive him of sleep so that they could bring up names of stakeholders to be consulted and handed the usual ego Oji; One Million Naira during consultation visits. The same man will be the one to keep addressing people at every stop and yet when we return in the wee hours of the morning, they still won't allow him to sleep.Thats when you start hearing stories about their kids purportedly stranded in schools abroad or the need to complete money for the purposes of marrying second wife or finishing housing projects. 

These APC Stakeholders usually have their names presented to the late Senator in such glowing terms that one begins to wonder why APC keeps losing so woefully in the state when they have such a calibre of people in their ranks.

The NWC of the party and the Presidency watched with worry as the late Senator who they had already resolved to hand the ticket to and make a governor stretched himself so badly while being led by the nose by this so-called advisory council even when the primaries were still as far away as next year. Abuja called from time to time to express that worry.

Do you now understand why federal appointments will now rather go to APGA than to the Anambra APC chapter? It is because with the APGA they know they can have an understanding during the presidential election and it will be genuinely adhered to like in the past APGA regimes. 

But with these political henchmen in Anambra APC, anything you see, you take. (Apologies to the many good men and women that I was also privileged to meet in the party but who were mostly relegated to the background). 

Yes, I have not come out personally to make an open declaration of my stand, but I gave my team of Great Minds the freedom to choose where they feel at home and they made their choice. The yardstick they used is that of track records (Gosimkamfunanya) and not political party consideration. 

Rather than using the members of Mr Paul Chukwuma's media team to apply emotional blackmail on us for rejecting you, why not leave us and our late principal, Ebubechukwu Uzo out of it and tell Ndi Anambra South what you will do for them as Dozie Ikedife Jnr and what your antecedents are. At least for the benefit of those who don't know your story already.

Who in Anambra does not know that the wave of acceptance that the Anambra chapter of the APC garnered with our daily efforts then at using the Ifeanyi Ubah brand to whitewash it, died alongside the late Senator?

Is there anything like APC still existing in Anambra State since the General died and our daily cleaning efforts stopped too? 

So why force us into allowing you to end our media brand in Japanese style Hara-Kiri, when even you know that winning is not possible but you just want to answer former Senatorial candidate just like your manfriday, from Anambra North who also wants to answer former Guber candidate for the purposes of pursuing federal appointments and contracts in Abuja.

What the duo of Mr Ikedife and Mr Paul Chukwuma alongside their cohorts are presently trying to do is to sell off the body parts of the Mercedes Maybach that they drove into the mud and scattered the engine  and of course, we won't allow that. 

No genuine member of the Ubahnation family will allow that to happen. We unapologetically love our late Principal both alive and with his Maker.

Tell us who you are and what your antecedents are including whether you have ever won any election in your polling unit since your political life as a major APC stakeholder. Your attempt to drive the sentiment of the late senator and use his goodwill will not work. You are not a member of Ifeanyi Ubah political structure.

To those throwing both direct and subtle threats at me, be advised that standing before you is a man who has learnt all there is to know about the ephemeral nature of life in one year with the deaths of both my Dad and my Principal, and nothing can move me.
