Honourable Nonso Ezeokafor has taken to the media to refute the claims of a recent newspaper report credited to Okey Maduforo alleging that he was party to a forged certificate, while threatening lawsuit against the source of the alleged defamation if not retracted.
Speaking to this reporter, the victim, Ezeokafor pointed out that the said publication began to lose credibility when it did not end well. In his words, "how can a reputable news medium end a report abruptly and without coherence by saying, "Speaking to reporters, a community leader..."
Speaking further, Chief Ezeokafor said,
"The people have accepted the verdict of our dear governor on the modus operandi of our election to ensure a smooth transition of power.
The Facts:
1. That Obinna Ezenwanne and Obinna Okoye were disqualified by Anambra traditional council rulers law for not resigning 3 months to the election being civil servants.
2. That Nonso Ezekafor was disqualified in error by the igwe selection committee.
3. That Mr Anselm Dim was disqualified on two counts by Ikenga Town Constitution for not having a house of his own and Anambra state traditional council rulers law for not living within the confines of Anambra state .
4. That the town EXCO went to Soludo for solution and governor suggested that vacuum cannot be entertained, hence that we would start the process afresh.
"How can you publish a report without balancing it by hearing from the accused? How can you say a certificate is false outside the court of law? All I can say is that they are all ill informed and if they do not retract the said publication on city post within a week, they will hear from my lawyer," He concluded
