"Former Ombudsman, Sam Ben Nwosu, Joins Anambra South Senatorial Race"

A new contender has emerged for the vacant Anambra South senatorial seat, as Prince Sam Ben Nwosu, a former Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission in Anambra State, has declared his intention to run under the People's Democratic Party (PDP) platform.

Nwosu, who made his declaration at his country home in Nnewi on Friday, December 20, stated that his desire to provide a new dimension of representation to Anambra South senatorial district motivated his decision to contest. He emphasized his ability to listen to the people and serve selflessly, saying, "I don't serve for what I will gain - my service is for what my people will benefit."

The PDP aspirant expressed confidence in his intellectual, moral, and physical capacity to take over the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah's seat and contribute meaningfully to the development of Anambra South and Anambra State. He dismissed concerns about the PDP's popularity in the Southeast and Anambra State, stating that his personal appeal and capabilities would secure victory for the party.

Nwosu also addressed the issue of matching the ruling APGA's influence, pointing out that APGA lost all three senatorial seats in Anambra during the 2023 general election. He expressed his commitment to designing a unique model of representation that would give absolute voice and control to Anambra South, rather than emulating late Senator Ubah's approach.

The PDP contestant further lent his support to the call for Nnewi North to complete late Senator Ubah's tenure before rotating the slot to another local government area in Anambra South senatorial zone.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid.
