A Renowned philanthropist and frontline APGA aspirant for the Anambra South Senatorial District seat, Chief (Dr) Ebuka Onunkwo, has tasked Anambra youths to prioritize self-development and skill acquisition. Speaking at the second edition of the Anambra Youth Conference, held at the international conference centre, Awka, Chief Onunkwo emphasized the importance of hard work, self-belief, and determination in achieving success.
Chief Onunkwo commended Anambra youths for their participation in the activities of the solution government and encouraged them to contribute meaningfully to building the state of their dreams. He announced a donation of ₦10 million scholarship fund to cover school fees for academically gifted but underprivileged youths.
Anambra State Governor, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, also spoke at the event, challenging the youths to take an active role in addressing societal challenges. He highlighted the "One Youth Two Skills" empowerment program, which aims to equip youths with skills and provide them with grants, as one of the state government's initiatives to address youth development challenges.
Chief Onunkwo also donated ₦5 million to support the organizers of the conference and announced automatic employment opportunities for ten accounting graduates in his company, Seahorse Lubricant Industries Ltd. The Commissioner for Youth Development, Mr. Patrick Aghamba, reported that the "One Youth Two Skills" empowerment initiative is on track, with the program prioritizing youth development and providing opportunities for growth and empowerment.
Chief Onunkwo's contributions to education and youth development have been significant, with over 500 Anambra youths benefiting from his scholarship program. He has established himself as a champion of education and youth empowerment, and his philanthropic efforts have been recognized and praised by the Chairman of the Occasion, Hon. Ikenna Ofodeme.
