UNIZIK LEADERSHIP CRISIS: Dr Ojiakor Calls for Dr Odoh's Removal, says he is an imposter

A senior lecturer and consultant anesthesiologist at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Dr. Chukwudi Ojiakor, has leveled serious allegations against Vice Chancellor Dr. Bernard Odoh, questioning his qualifications and legitimacy to be the vice chancellor of the university.

In a Zoom interview on November 13, 2024, Dr. Ojiakor cited Dr. Odoh's lack of administrative experience, non-professorial status, and allegedly forged documents from the University of Guasu, which the university has affirmed to be fake and also denied issuing such documents.

Dr. Ojiakor emphasized Dr. Odoh's inexperience, bias from the Pro Chancellor against medical school professors, and violation of university Senate's role in the VC election process, which he said lacked integrity.

He said, Dr Odoh's continued stay as the Vice Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikikwe University is wrong as there are many evidences to proof the fact that he is an impostor. " For all I know and from the available documentation available to the public, Dr Bernard Odoh remains an impostor. He is not qualified for such a position,he is merely buying time."

The key allegations he said is on his lack of administrative experience, his non-professorial status, forged documents, bias against medical school professors and disregard for university Senate's role in VC election process.

Dr. Ojiakor however urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the federal government to enforce Dr. Odoh's terminated appointment, and as well investigate the documents he presented for election into the position which has since be condemed by the authorities of such Institutions including the federal ministry of education. He insists on the sack of the Pro-Chancellor Prof. Greg Mbadiwe for violating the processes for such an election, as he is majorly the life line of Dr Odoh, whom he said is doing everything to sustain the illegality and as such causing shame to the university.

He also called on the federal ministry of education to investigate the forged documents and address the bias against medical school professors in the University, which has caused shame for the academia in the country.  He said that by the letter issued by the ministry rendering the appointment of Dr Odoh, that the young man can only be seen as going against the directive of the ministry and the federal government.

He said " as a matter of urgency the federal ministry of education, should do a proper investigation into the documents Dr Odoh presented, and the allow the proper process to be followed. It's on public domain that he forged documents to be where he is, and the University in Gusua has come open to stay he is not from them, what evidence do we need again"

The controversy surrounding Dr. Odoh's appointment and qualifications raises critical questions about UNIZIK's leadership and governance, and it's believed in several quarters that the reversal should be in the interest of the university community. There is also a letter from the ministry of education terminating such appointment.

The future of UNIZIK hangs in the balance, necessitating swift action to uphold academic integrity and excellence.

Attached are documents to establish his position that Dr Odoh is not supposed to be the Vice Chancellor of the university.
