Ogbuefi Ugochukwu Nnajiofor Celebrates New Yam Festival in Grand Style

.....Calls on Ndigbo to never forget their culture



The ancient town of Oraifite recently came alive with the celebration of the New Yam Festival by Ogbuefi Ugochukwu Nnajiofor " Man Pass Man", a significant cultural event in the Igbo calendar. The festival, which symbolizes the harvesting of new yams, was marked with great fanfare, music, and traditional dances.

At the heart of the celebration was Ugochukwu Nnajiofor "Man Pass Man" , a traditional healer known for his philanthropic activities and commitment to promoting Igbo culture. Ogbuefi Ugochukwu"Man Pass Man" with his followers, friends and well wishers , clad in their traditional attire, gathered at his Oraifite country home to mark the occasion.

One of the highlights of the festival was the presence of Awka Okukotiwarati, a renowned traditional healer from Oba, in Idemili South, Anambra State. Awka Okuko's performance added a new dimension to the celebration, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Igbo people.

The New Yam Festival is a significant event in Igbo culture, marking the beginning of the harvest season. It is a time for families and communities to come together, give thanks for the bounty of the land, and pray for a successful harvest.

During the celebration, the Ugochukwu Nnajiofor also known as "Man Pass Man"  used the opportunity to promote unity and solidarity among the people of Oraifite. While fielding questions from journalists he  emphasized the importance of preserving Igbo culture and traditions, and encouraged the younger generation to take pride in their heritage.

The festival was attended by dignitaries from across Anambra State, including traditional rulers, politicians, and business leaders. The event was marked by a sense of joy and camaraderie, as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate the New Yam Festival.

As the celebration came to a close, the people of Oraifite and their guests looked forward to a bountiful harvest season, grateful for the opportunity to come together and celebrate their rich cultural heritage.

 "Man Pass Man", Awka Okuko, and many other performance will be remembered for a long time, serving as a testament to the enduring spirit of Igbo culture.
