Obidient Movement Convenes Symposium in Anambra, Advocates Unity and Good Governance

The Obidient Movement, a socio-political organization dedicated to promoting good governance and accountability, yesterday in Onitsha Anambra state convened a symposium, bringing together key stakeholders to discuss Nigeria's future.  The event underscored the movement's commitment to unity, justice, and equity.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, while interacting the newsmen yesterday in Onitsha emphasized the possibility of a new Nigeria, citing inspirational leaders like Awolowo, Azikiwe, and Tafawa Balewa. He said that time has come for Nigerians to further advocate for good Governance at all levels,and maintained that the Obident movement will not rest on its oars to ensure that the national assembly did the needful, by ensuring that the major political stakeholders our things right before the 2027 general election. 

He urged the South East to continue supporting the movement, stressing that "charity begins at home". Tanko advocated for Peter Obi as the next president, highlighting his commitment to the country's well-being.

Prof. Stella Okunna, chairman of the occasion, stressed the importance of good governance, thanking organizers for re-energizing the movement. She tasked the team to increase visibility beyond party affiliation.
Valentine Ozigbo, Labour Party governorship aspirant for Anambra's 2025 election, who is a strong member of the obident movement,emphasized the movement's goal of advancing Nigerian interests. Ozigbo urged members to remain united, working toward a better Nigeria. He said that "what the Labour Party did in 2023 was to show Nigerians that it's possible". He appreciated those who helped the movement to gain greater heights, especially folks from the West like Obasanjo, and others. 

He said that a few things that was left undone will be put aright this time for the movement achieve it's desired goals, which is good Governance at all levels.

 He said that 2025 is very important for the obident movement, because of the Anambra Election which he is contesting for. 

He said that the Ka Anambra Chawapu document is for a better, brighter and a more prosperous Anambra, which when implemented will ensure that Anambra is better off than what the state had on ground today. He stressed that the Labour Party must come together to ensure that they wrestle power from the incumbent and therefore called on Ndi Anambra to support his vision, to bring Anambra to the next level of growth and development. 

Valentine Ozigbo outlined his vision for Anambra, focusing on security, health, economy, education, environment, social welfare, and technological advancement. He said if elected governor that he will prioritize technology, production, and agriculture as core development areas. 

Prof. Pat Utomi in his keynote address called for synergy and proactiveness among members, emphasizing collective action toward a brighter future. He called on the people of the south east to remain together and focused for the task ahead. 

The symposium reaffirmed the Obidient Movement's dedication to Peter Obi's unified Nigeria vision.

The event attracted dignitaries, including Alhaji Ibrahim Abudlkarm, Ikenna Obident General, Dr. Oseloka Obaze, Hon. Nzeribe, Barr. Donald Amamgbo among others

The Obidient Movement seeks to empower Nigerian youth, advocating for meaningful change and accountability. Its mission aligns with the quest for good governance, justice, and equity.

BREAKING: 2Baba Shot Dead In Rivers State

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid. The police and other security agencies were said to have conducted land and aerial raids at the identical hideout of the Iceland cult leader and his gang at Idu-Ekpeye in Ahoada East local government area of Rivers on Saturday, February 17. According to  The Nation , the Iceland cult leader was reportedly feared dead after the operation.   Recall that in September 2023, the late DPO was ambushed and captured by the cult group led by 2Baba in the Odiemudie community, Ahoada East LGA.   2Baba and his gang then took the DPO to the forest, where they killed him and dismembered his body. The cultists then filmed him. Another source, Obi, said he saw no less than 15 vehicles and an Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) during the operation.  

AMB CHARLES NWONYE ATTENDS HON ERNEST N.OBIORA'S 46TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND 80TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION.

  The big celebration started with a High Mass lead by His Lordship Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye at St Vincent De Paul parish Uruagu Nnewi, in the mass were some dignitaries, amongst who were Dr Cletus Ibeto, His Royal Highness Igwe Kenneth Orizu ( Igwe Nnewi), Obi Uruagu his Highness Obi Charles Afamefuna Obi, Obi Nnewichi his Highness Obi George Onyekaba, Hon Chris Azubuogu, and among others. After the mass, the reception which was at Munic Classic Hotel where all dignitaries were entertained, Amb Charles Nwonye stayed briefly and left to visit and consult with the Umuada Anaedo Forum women at Obi Okpunoegbu to present his political ambition to the women.
