Mefor Visits Anambra Airport,Commends Soludo On Economic Revival through the Airport

Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has commended Governor Soludo's efforts in reviving the state's economy through the Chinụa Achebe International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri. During his visit to the airport, Mefor praised the airport's Managing Director, Martins Nwafor, for his efforts in ensuring the airport's efficient operation.

The airport has recorded impressive achievements, with 400,000 passengers in 7,000 flights over 2-3 years without night flights. Mefor assured the airport of the Soludo government's continued support, announcing plans to construct a VIP lounge in a matter of weeks. This development is expected to enhance the airport's facilities and provide a better experience for passengers.

Mefor emphasized the importance of the airport in the state's economic development, citing its potential to transform Anambra into a destination for investors and tourists. The airport plays a crucial role in the Anambra Mixed Use Industrial City project, which aims to drive economic and industrial growth in the state.

According to Martins Nwafor, the airport boasts the best runway in Nigeria, with a total distance of 3.7 kilometers. The airport also has a well-calibrated instrument landing system. The airport is set to host a trade fair from December 1st to 7th, coinciding with the airport's third anniversary of commercial operations.

The airport's achievements are a testament to Governor Soludo's vision of making Anambra State a destination of choice instead of a departure lounge. The airport is expected to play a key role in the state's economic development, and the government's continued support is a positive step towards achieving this goal.

As the airport continues to grow and develop, it is expected to have a significant impact on the state's economy. The airport's potential to transform Anambra into a destination for investors and tourists is vast, and the government's efforts to support its development are commendable.

In conclusion, the Chinụa Achebe International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri, is a vital component of Anambra State's economic development strategy. The airport's achievements and the government's continued support are positive indicators of the state's potential for growth and development.
