Calls for Ikenga Ugochinyere's recall
The entire leaders of thought of Ideato North and South local governments have commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for his numerous interventions in the infrastructure of both LGA's citing that they have never had it so good since the creation of the state.
The meeting which was held today,at Mgbe Hall, Ideato South, today being the 10th of October, 2024 saw over 5000 indigenes from both LGA's in its attendance including persons comprising of political, traditional, opinion and religious spheres of both local governments to appraise its state of affairs as a constituency.
The forum in its communique commended Governor Hope Uzodinma for his numerous interventions within the LGA which they described and celebrated a number of them. as firsts of their kind despite the fact that the LGA's had long being in existence and numerous administrations had come and gone without making much impact within these LGA's. The meeting which was convened by Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu had been called to show solidarity with the governor for his strides in areas like security, education, healthcare, appointments and infrastructure especially the The 22-kilometer Orlu-Mgbee-Akokwa-Uga road which had ensured connectivity between the two LGA'S and beyond these areas. Arodiogbu stated that though these roads were federal roads and had been neglected by previous administrations,Governor Uzodinma touched by the plight of the people had resorted to construct these roads mitigating the sufferings borne by its people, for this alone they were thankful. They also commended Governor Uzodinma for the speedy completion of the road.
Other matters which arose did include the unanimous adoption of the motion for the recall of the Member representing Ideato North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Ikenga Ugochinyere for his failure to represent the zone since his emergence in 2023.
The leaders noted that the Ideato North and South Constituency had never had it this bad with such representation in which matters vital to the constituency had been neglected while its representative preferred to attend to matters that had brought nothing but ridicule to the constituency.
The leaders stated that they would soon institute a process for the recall of Ugochinyere as envisaged and spelt out by the Constitution, the Electoral Act and the extant INEC guidelines as the constituency was in much need for quality representation.
