Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has praised Ndi Anambra for the peaceful conduct of the local government elections on September 28, 2024. After monitoring polling units across the state, Hon. Dr. Law Mefor expressed satisfaction with the impressive voter turnout and the fair conduct of polls across the 21 LGAs of the state.
Mefor noted that Governor Soludo by this has fulfilled his promise to conduct local government elections, a milestone after 11 years. He emphasized the importance of a functional local government system for good governance and democracy, stressing that good governance at the grassroots is what defines democracy.
He also commended APGA for remaining a strong political bloc, which is very rooted in Anambra. He said " I see no reason why APGA should not sweep the polls, the party did, because of it's strong roots in Anambra."
