Ohaneze Youth Wing Affirms Chukwuma Okapalaezeukwu as National President

Says Damian Okafor an Impostor


The Ohaneze Youth Wing, a prominent Igbo youth organization, has affirmed Mazi Chukwuma Okapalaezeukwu as its National President, dismissing claims by Damian Okafor, who they described as an impostor.

In a press release made available to newsmen in Enugu, the Ohaneze Youth Wing leadership stated that Chukwuma Okapalaezeukwu was duly elected as National President in 2022 and has been working tirelessly to promote the interests of Igbo youths worldwide, and that 23 out of 24 executive members of the group has before now passed a vote of no confidence on Engr Damian Okafor and has since suspended him indefinitely. 

The organization's assistant national publicity secretary National publicity secretary Ohanaeze youth wing worldwide, Mazi Art Chika Adiele however declared, "We want to set the record straight. Chukwuma Okapalaezeukwu is our authentic National President. Damian Okafor is an impostor who has been trying to cause confusion and division within our ranks."

He said that following the NEC report on the crisis that rocked the organization until Late Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu appointment of Mazi Chukwuma Okapalaezeukwu who was ratified by the ime Obi of Ohaneze. 

The Ohaneze Youth Wing accused Damian Okafor of attempting to hijack the organization for personal gain, stating that he has no legitimate claim to the presidency.

The Acting President Chukwuma Okapalaezeukwu, in his address, thanked the Ohaneze Youth Wing for their support and reaffirmed his commitment to working for the betterment of Igbo youths. He urged members to remain united and focused on their goals.

The affirmation of Chukwuma Okapalaezeukwu as National President by the Ohaneze Youth Wing has put to rest the leadership controversy surrounding the organization, and members are now poised to move forward under his leadership.
