NGOR OKPALA CHAIRMANSHIP POSITION: "MMEGBU" AGAINST OZUZU/UMUEKWUNE WARD: WHY GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA MUST HEAR THIS

Figuratively speaking, it is a sheer marginalization and injustice to deny "nwambe" his due right and position because of the small size of his manhood. "Nwambe" is a very popular rodent known for its "pinchomick" size. 

In the politics of Ngor Okpala, Ozuzu/Umuekwune ward can be likened to the proverbial "nwambe" who has continued to pass through all sorts of subjugation and marginalisation due to the small size of his "manhood". Manhood in this contextual subtext does not connote the male genital organ but the environment and probably political placement.

Like Ndigbo in Nigerian politics, Ozuzu/Umuekwune ward has continued to remain relegated and totally cut-off from Ngor Okpala political scheming. It is worrisome and totally appalling that the said marginalisation has remained entrenched and deep-rooted without any genuine and conscientious consideration of changing the narrative. On periodical basis, the marginalisation seems to be taking a bad colouration making it look like a consciously calculated and predetermined plot to alleniate the people of Ozuzu/Umuekwune ward from the mainstream of Ngor Okpala politics. This is so disheartening to the extent that this ugly narrative keeps rearing its head on every election season. Despite the enormous commitments and contributions of the people of Ozuzu/Umuekwune ward in Ngor Okpala election engineering, the case has remained the same. 

In every election, Ozuzu/Umuekwune ward has never relented in galvanizing unprecedented Support for the APC . But at last, the people will be dumped and relegated during the sharing and distribution of political deriverables.

This is the height of marginalisation and "mmegbu". Ngor Okpala has five Political court Areas namely; Okwe, Obike, Mbaishii, Onyeaghala Nwanneya and Igba court areas. Okwe court area has three wards; Ward 7, ward 8 and ward 9, Obike Court Area has two wards; ward 2, ward 3, Mbaishii Court Area has two wards ; ward 1, ward 4, Igba court area has two wards; ward 5, ward 6, Onyeaghala Nwanneya court area has two wards; ward 10, ward 11. 

 The truth is that, since the inception of Democratic dispensation, all the wards in Ngor Okpala have held one Political position or another including elective and appointive positions . It is only Ozuzu/Umuekwune ward which has not held any Political position both elective and appointive. No single soul from the ward has been elected either local government council chairman, SOLAD or Transition Committee chairman. The ward has been excluded in virtually all Political positions accrued to Ngor Okpala.

In view of the foregoing narrative, it will be important for the Ngor Okpala local government chairmanship position to be ceded to ward 3. This is for the sake of justice, equity and fairness. This intervention is to appeal to His Excellency, Gov Hope Uzodimma and the leadership of the APC in the state to consider this passionate and noble appeal.

It will amount to double standard and sheer hypocrisy for us to continue to shout about marginalisation against Ndigbo in Nigerian politics whereas we are guilty of the same marginalisation even against ourselves. This is the time for retrospection , and amendment, because he who goes to equity goes with clean hands.

Valentine Ozigbo Resigns from Labour Party

In a shocking move, against all speculations over the last few days, Valentine Ozigbo, a close ally of Peter Obi, has announced his resignation from the Labour Party (LP).
