Laments Enugu state government's Neglect
Chief O. Z Ubah an indigene of Ugwuoba Community in Enugu state has called on the governor and government of Enugu state to look into the neglect of Ugwuoba Community over the years which has made him to ask, if the town is in Enugu or Anambra, as there are no infrastructure to state that the state government is aware that they are part of the state. He made this call recently while interacting with newsmen in Ugwuoba at the recently concluded extraordinary Ugwuoba town hall meeting.
He said that neglecting Ugwuoba community since the inception of Ugwuoba community is quite unfortunate and unfair.
He stressed that "If really Ugwuoba is in Enugu state this amount must be paid to caution the effects of long term negligence of Ugwuoba community. Enugu state can ignore this call if they know that Ugwuoba is not in Enugu state."
"We have no facilities but voting materials comes to Ugwuoba each election day and after election they won't know us again, we say no this maltreatment. If you come to Ugwuoba you will notice that there is no existing hospital, good school or University, no good road network, no portable water, no light in the community, no police station, no customary Court, no appointment of government bodies etc."
He called on the federal government to weigh into the matter. He as well tasked the Enugu state government, His Excellency, Peter Mbah to look into their request, as Ugwuoba has been neglected for too long.
Continuing , he also called on the President of Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellence Bola Ahmed Tinubu to look into their matter, as Ugwuoba has a lot to contribute to the gas master plan of thr federal government because of the FG's transition agenda from fuel to gas, as Ugwuoba has enormous deposits of gas which Shell BP has once explored.
Chief O Z Ubah, also called on the DG, Border Communities Development Commission, Dr Alabo Dakorinama George-Kelly to weigh into matter, as to determine if Ugwuoba community is in Enugu state or Anambra State.
He said that the suffering of their people has reach its peak and that they would not want more loss to the people of Ugwuoba.
