Only Amaka Obi Brought Grassroot Development To Idemili-South After 20 Years Of Bad Governance -- Stakeholder

BY RAYMOND OZOJI, Awka

An indigene of Ojoto community and stakeholder in Idemili-South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Comrade Prince Emeka Nwabunike says it is only Amaka Obi that brought grassroot development to the council area after 20 years of bad governance and maladministration.

Nwabunike who spoke exclusively with this journalist, maintained that of all the Council Chairmen who governed Idemili-South, only Amaka Obi opened their eyes to good governance and inclusive government such that for the very first time, they could witness concrete projects being executed in accordance with the pressing needs of the people.

He said there should be no arguments whatsoever as to whether Amaka Obi should continue in office as the TC Chairman because it is crystal clear that she has surpassed the achievements of her predecessors as well as met the expectations of Ndi-Idemili-South.

He said those agitating for her disqualification on grounds of personal interests were merely building castle in the air because the people have collectively decided that Amaka Obi remained choice of the people for Idemili-South TC chairman.

Nwabunike said they never knew that a Local Government Chairman could construct a gutter let alone carryout other massive developmental projects but according to him, Amaka Obi opened their eyes to good governance and they saw that Idemili-South could actually set the template for local government administration in Anambra State.

Nwabunike who told this journalist that those clamouring for power shift didn't do some self-introspection, maintained that the current House of Assembly member for Idemili-South is of the same zone with his predecessor who did 8 years in the legislature.

Nwabunike who concurred that no one goes to equity with unclean hands, noted that the issue of zoning does not arise in the present circumstance because if such should be considered, the incumbent lawmaker representing Idemili-South wouldn't have gotten the opportunity he is enjoying now.

He however advised Amaka Obi's detractors to leave her alone because in the history of Idemili-South, it is only Amaka Obi that has given the people the dividends and benefits of democratic local government administration.
