Re: Ozigbo's False Narratives on Soludo's Stewardship by Christian Aburime: the Danger of Ignorance

By Ifeanyi Onyekwelu

After reading a piece by the press secretary of the Anambra State Governor, Mr Charles Aburime, with the above title, my first inclination was to roll on the floor with laughter for it is said that those that live in glass houses should not throw stones. By his very response, Aburime showed his poor knowledge of history and I won't even waste time arguing with him. I will use just three examples to expose his lies, with one of them vindicating Mr Valentine Ozigbo's assertion that Gov Chukwuma Soludo has not done as well in the last 2 years.

Aburime described Ozigbo as a political prostitute for joining Labour Party from the People's Democratic Party, PDP. Beautiful. But isn't it amazing that a whole Press Secretary is unaware that his principal, Soludo, has done some long jumps that would have won him gold at the just concluded All Africa Games?

Has he forgotten how Soludo first joined the PDP to contest against Peter Obi in 2010 but lost? Has he forgotten how the same Soludo crossed over to APGA soon after where he couldn't make it beyond the primaries ?

How then could Aburime have glossed over this to point fingers at another person?

Aburime also talked about desperation but forgot that Soludo, in his desperation to be governor, passed a vote of confidence on his immediate predecessor, Willie Obiano, by famously asserting thus, "If it's not broken, why fix it?"
Yet today he's been crying that he met empty coffers and starting afresh to build roads which were completely abandoned by Obiano.

Because of his desperation to ride on Obiano's back to Government House, he lied to the people of the state on the true state of affairs then. Isn't this a case of a confused man talking from both sides of his mouth?

Evidently, Mr Ozigbo scored Soludo low on his performance so far recently, accusing him of using unknown contractors. Lo and behold, two days later, the first rain swept away a road recently commissioned by Soludo in Ochanja Market, Onitsha!

For a man who has promised to turn Anambra State to Dubai-Taiwan, the sweeping away of that road is easily the most embarrassing thing recorded in the state's history. It was a collosal waste of tax payers' money and one that demands a huge apology to the people of the state.

These three examples have thus far torpedoed Mr Aburime's lies and made it unnecessary for me to further engage him. The speedy collapse of that road is shocking, unbelievable and most humiliating. It has cast a huge slur on the image of Anambra State and if that had been a bridge we can well imagine what fate would have befallen the users!

As we used to say during our days in school debate, with these three points of mine, I beseech the impartial judges (Anambra public) to make their own conclusions.

#Watchvideo : SECURITY FORCES BURST THE CAMP OF UNKNOWN GUNMEN IN AKOKWA

Security Forces in the state through a coordinated intelligence report has bursted the camp of the unknown gunmen at Akokwa, Arondizuogu after a long gun duel which resulted to the death of some of the criminals and others arrested. These criminal elements have been known to be behind several attacks in the state such as the killing of police men in Mbaise, Aba Branch in Ehime Mbano, burning down of police stations, attack and attempted kidnapping of former Governor Ikedi Ohakim, abduction of Miss. P.P. Johnson, a female soldier in Okigwe and recently the attack in Akokwa that left many dead. It is obvious that these daredevil gunmen have been perpetuating their evil plans unabated until yesterday when their camp was bursted by security agencies. This is another assurance that our security operatives are leaving no stone unturned in the fight against banditry and other related activities. While it has become obvious that the activities of these non state actors are politically motivate...
