Anambra has the potential to be the industrial hub of the South East - Ifeanyi Ubah

..... Unveils Master Plan to transform Anambra

Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah the Senator representating Anambra South Senatorial District and a frontline contenter for the governorship of Anambra state in 2025, has thrown light on how Anambra state can position itself towards becoming the center piece of industrial revolution if he is elected as the governor of Anambra come 2025.

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, while interacting with Journalists at his country home in Umuanuka Otolo, Nnewi North LGA over the weekend said that  Anambra State has the digital economy and fiscal responsibility to provide 100,000 jobs per annum, with a firm commitment to anchor  the facilitation of trade with incentives through Private Public Partnership to ensure ease of doing business, which will inturn turn the state to the industrial hub of the South East.

He highlighted his blueprint as one of the best, towards the industrialization and economic diversification of Anambra State as the fastest growing economy in Nigeria.

He said " my industrialization policy thrust would be driven by three economic pillars of manufacturing sector development, agro-allied development as well as oil and gas investment across the state.

Senator Ubah however regretted that bad governance had made a mess of the state, a state he said has the highest potential to be the strongest economy in Nigeria.

Ubah said, if elected he will activate the process to expand economic potentials of Anambra with the aim of producing higher average incomes and expenditure that would bring about manageable inflation.

He however stressed that, the worrisome economic state of affairs in Anambra State shows that our great fortress and walls of wealth have been broken, and his government will be positioned to holistically interrogate the underlying issues and find a permanent model to fix it.

“States must develop according to their comparative advantage. Comparative advantage is simply an economy’s ability to focus on the production of goods and services at a lower opportunity cost than one’s competitors.

“A comparative advantage gives one the ability to do more and stay stronger. Anambra is reputed for its prowess in commerce, technology, education, sports and many more.

“Any economic policy developed for Anambra State that does not derive from this trajectory is a misplacement of priorities and out of place, “he said.

Senator Ubah therefore maintained that if elected, he will ensure that Anambra State under his leadership will make life more meaningful to the masses, who have suffered huge economic setback in recently.

“This is doable with the level of potential harboured by the State, both at home and in diaspora, “he assured.

He explained that the State’s Gross Domestic Products (GDP) needed to be doubled with the intention of actualizing a diversified and competitive economy through the implementation of integrated and inclusive industrial development policies.
