Ndiakwu Otolo community in Nnewi, Nnewi North LGA of Anambra state has held it's 2023 Ndiakwu day celebration and end of year general meeting. This event happens every 31st of December. Ndiakwu day is more of a home coming for the sons and daughters of the community, which also doubles as stock taking for the leadership of the community and the giant strides they have taken to see that the community lives in peaceful coexistence with others.
This year's event was spectacular in many fronts as the National Chairman of the community and it's executive used the event to give stock of what they have done in the last year of their administration. Ndiakwu Project With The New Administration Led Hon Izuchukwu Nwankwo
In his keynote address the National Chairman of the community, Hon. Izuchukwu Nwankwo stressed that the year 2023 has been a fruitful and an engaging year for everyone in the community and thanked God for his blessings. He also thanked God for helping them surmount the challenges that came to them in the year 2023. He said that the past year of 2023 witnessed a landmark progress in the development of Ndiakwu Otolo community and in a special way thanked the people, for their love for our community and their contributions also, to the development of Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi Community.
He recounted many of his leadership strides and said that God gave them the grace to achieve them.
He said " It's on record that we have actually installed streetlights at Nnamdi Odum Udeze Street, through the assistance of Mr Nnamdi Udeze."
Another set of streetlights was also installed by Chikaosolu Ojukwu SAN, based on the Nat. Chairman's directive, as our son Chikaosolu has also agreed to complete the streetlights from Nkwo Edo Market to Eke Amaobi Junction.
He said that the community graded the Roads from Ndiakwu Civil Center to Ezeoguinu Road", while Pharm Ella Okonkwo have promised to complete John Ray Street to the end.
He said his administration was able to procured 1 Big generator for their civic center which was donated to them by their son and brother Rtn Ugochukwu Okonkwo. He also recently donated the sum of 1Million to support our youths, who have something doing and urged them to desist from criminal behavior in our community. He also supported one of our brother's with a 2900 SUMEC FIREMAN Generator to boost his business.
On EEDC, he said that community for about 2 months had no light, but one of brother's supported the community with the sum of N300,000. It's also on record that some of our brother's also supported and paid for about 100 persons, some part payment of their bills.
Another road from National Scenics and Technical College to Akulouno was created by the community.
The community also constructed about 4 Culvert. One was built by Mr Onyedika Chigbo and Mr Nnamdi Udeze supported in constructing the one that leads to his house.
The community also made plans to support one of our brother's who travelled outside the country.
However, some criminal elements in the community have been sent to the Correction Service to improve their life and be a better person,which has also brought back peace to the community.
In view of all this the National Chairman of Ndiakwu Otolo Nnewi, advised that whosoever that owns a street should please maintain the street.
The highlight of this year's Ndiakwu Otolo community day was the unveiling of a fueless vehicle built by an indigene of Ndiakwu and the presentation of an SUV to an Anglican priest of St Christophers Church Ndiakwu Otolo to carry on with his activities in the community.
