The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) has cautioned its customers against falling victim to fraudsters, stressing that the planned upgrade of STS prepaid meters in its network will be free of charge, and at no cost to customers. This clarification was made today in Enugu, by the Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Mr. Emeka Ezeh. According to Ezeh, the warning became necessary because of information received by the company about activities of some unscrupulous elements who are extorting unsuspecting customers in the name of upgrading their meters. Governor Chukwuma  Soludo of Anambra State has been urged to as a matter of urgency disband the Anambra State Road Transport Management Agency (ATMA) and Ocha brigade The Campaign for Democracy (CD) in South East and Human Rights, Liberty Access and Peace Defenders' Foundation (HURIDE) in a press release  Wednesday said that the State road management agency is doing nothing to manage roads in the State,  rather than the leadership and operatives of the agency were busy extorting motorists to enrich themselves. Reading through an article written by  one of Ukaegbu's media huncho, Frank Nwaete, I can't help but feel for the man Ukaegbu. It is no longer news that the Imo state chapter of the Labour party will be flagging of campaign soon and several party stakeholders will be coming into Imo state to boost the morale of their party faithfuls. Many of them are being expected, including their presidential candidate Mr Peter Obi.  From the information available on the media space, a faction of the party will be presenting Chief Athan Achonu as their candidate against the ruling of the court.
