Anambra Market IGR: Government House Syndicate Fingered in IGR Diversion

Some appointee's of the governor of Anambra state have been fingered in the diversion of market IGR in the state. This is so, as the PG of ASMATA Chief Humphrey Chukwudi Anuna (Onwa Oraeri) has also been fingered in connviving with them to ensure that revenue meant for Government is not remitted and most times traders in Anambra market are over taxed which is causing disaffection between the trader's, and the APGA lead Government in the state.

Mr Oliver Nwachukwu, in an exclusive interview with our correspondent made the disclosure in Awka, over the weekend. Mr Oliver Nwachukwu (Warrior of the Most High God) is the state chairman of Anambra Market stakeholders and the state chairman of Anambra market ambassadors. He made these revelations stressing that he has already sent a protest letter to the Government of Anambra state about the development, but needed to talk to the press in case those that are in charge of this heist goes ahead to frustrate it as usual,by either doctoring the letter or shredding it.

He said " it's unfortunate that Anambra state Governor was ill advised about appointing Chief Humphrey Chukwudi Anuna as the PG of ASMATA, the man does not have character. He is the real reason APGA did not perform well in the last general election. It's unfortunate that he is not intelligent and smart, and has misused the opportunity given him, which will hunt the state government and it's chances of re election, as he has destroyed all the market structures put in place that enabled the APGA lead Government to win the last election for Soludo."

The PG he said, is not working for the interest of APGA because of the in fighting going on in his executive, as he has ensured that he sidelined them in all ramifications, boasting that Aguata Solidarity Front will not endose his removal, a situation Mr Oliver Nwachukwu described as terrible. He said that the name dropping of Prof Charles Soludo by the PG has further messed up everything they have worked for with the Governor, whom he said has good intentions for the state.

He said that the same PG created fracas between them and the traders at Ochanja, Ogbogwu, Nnewi etc and the traders in almost all the markets are not happy with the Soludo's administration. He said when they are not happy they direct it to the state government, APGA and the governor. A situation he described as unfortunate. He stressed that the market leaders and trader's are not happy, and that election is fast approaching and if nothing is done within the next three months it will be a disaster for the party.

He asked the governor to help fish out those in his cabinet who have been working hand in glove with the PG to divert Government revenue. He lamented a situation where the PG in connivance with same person in government house Awka increased stallage fees from 1220 to 14,200 and the balance of the Government revenue was diverted without being paid into Government account. All these things are happening because the PG now see Anambra market as his estate.

Mr Oliver Nwachukwu further said he will come out to defend his position and there are evidence that the PG and his accomplices have continued to divert Government revenue without recourse. He said " it's unfortunate that this is happening under the leadership of the PG ASMATA,and this diversion is getting protection from government house officials who I have told the governor about. We recovered booklets of fake reciepts in some markets visited and will tender other evidence to proof our position that the man at the helm of affairs is working for the opposition."

Mr Nwachukwu further alleged that the PG has printed receipts and have started sharing to traders in the market, when the window for revenue has not been granted. He said "he printed for 2022 and 2023, when Government has not given directives to that effect.

" It's quite unfortunate he also diverted funds of his own executive and thereby denied them of their 3% running into millions of naira, and has continued to boast that nothing will happen as he is the alter ego. But he forgets that it's still the same people that helped him recover Government revenue in the markets"

He thanked Dr Madubuko for his efforts before the flight broke out, and for the one's he recovered for government. He said that the IGR of Anambra state has been hijacked by certain personalities in government house Awka, and that the government of Prof Charles Soludo needs to look at the protest letter sent to his email & WhatsApp,as he discovered that most regular mails are either re written or discarded so that Prof Charles Soludo doesn't read it to take action.

He commended the agenda of Prof Charles Soludo to develop Anambra state, but said that unfortunately these elements have refused to work for Anambra but have insisted on working for their personal interests in connivance with the PG ASMATA. He therefore called on the Governor of Anambra state, Prof Charles Soludo to look into this matter to nip it in the bud, because it has put the Government against the people, and will affect greatly the volume of revenue that will be collected by Government and will as well reduce the leakages, as he is working with those he described as wolves in sheep clothing, he concluded
