...The Trumpeta story of Revolt in APC, is false, mischievous, misleading_
The attention of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Imo State chapter has been drawn to a deliberate falsehood circulated on various media platforms (print and electronic) by an Owerri-based Newspaper, the Trumpeta, deliberately skewed to cause confusion and ill will amongst members of our great party.
Contrary to the claims made in the said newspaper report, the honourable SAs are not planning any revolt against the government and there is no disaffection with the APC in Imo State. The assertion that over 150 SAs have vowed to openly revolt due to unpaid salaries and allowances is entirely false and unfounded.
The APC-led government of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma in Imo State, unarguably maintains a strong commitment to its statutory obligations. As a responsible and responsive political party, we value the contributions of our SAs and recognize their dedication to the party and the state. Our governor, is reputed for his unwavering commitment to the welfare of Imo workforce.
It is important to state, that should there be any delay(s) in the payment of salary and allowances to few appointees as alleged, it is part of the routine administrative processes in line with the new automated payment system in the state.
We want to assure all party members and the public that there is no such situation as reported by Trumpeta to create bad blood and frosty relationship between the party and the relatively new appointees. The relationship between the government appointees and the APC leadership remains cordial.
We urge the media, particularly , the management of Trumpeta Newspaper and the public to rely on accurate and verified sources of information. Misleading reports negate the principles of journalism and constitute a threat to democracy and security of our people.
While our doors are open for any questions or information, it is our advice to media professionals in the state to always commit themselves to balanced journalism in line with the dictates of the noble profession.
Finally, we enjoin our esteemed members to disregard the contents of the said report, as it is entirely baseless, idiotic and figment of imagination of the authors.
