NNEWI FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY ELECTION:YPP WINS IN COURT AS TRIBUNAL NULLIFIES APGA'S ELODIMUO ELECTION, ORDERS RERUN IN EIGHT POLLING UNITS
The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Awka has nullified the election of Hon Uche Elodimuo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). In its judgment, the court ruled that the declaration of Mr Uche Elodimuo as the winner of the 2023 Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Federal Constituency Election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is illegal, unconstitutional, null and void.
The court also ordered INEC to conduct a supplementary election in eight of the Polling Units in Nnewi within ninety days.
Hon Peter Uzokwe of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) dragged the APGA candidate and INEC to the Tribunal over alleged illegal cancellation of votes in Nnewi.
