Mbido Igbo Honors Amb Charles Nwonye, with Eziokwu Atuagwu



Mbido Igbo association, a socio cultural group from Igboukwu, over the weekend at the Yam House Igboukwu during the celebration of this year's new yam festival honored Amb Charles Nwonye with the chieftaincy title of Eziokwu Atuagwu 1 na ana Igbo. The honor was in recognition of his ability to speak truth to power, without fear or favour as he has always been on the path of truth which has helped solve so many personal and community issues in the past. 


Amb Charles Nwonye after the conferment of the title, thanked God for his mercy,which he dedicated to him and also commended the socio cultural organization for finding him worthy to be bestowed with such an honor. He said that " the name Eziokwu Atuagwu 1 na ana Igbo is a confirmation of my resolve to always stand on the truth. I am not afraid of saying the truth, reason I have been at peace with everyone around me."


He thanked the organizers of the event, especially the national president of the group, Okafo Uzo and his executive, for the way and manner they made sure things where handled. He also thanked the traditional rulers that graced the event, especially the Igwe of Igboukwu His Royal Highness, Igwe Ezeobidike Alex Ejikemeuwa Azike, Idu 111, for gracing the event, which is his first official outing since he was issued with certificate of recognition by Prof Charles Soludo the Govenor of Anambra state. He also thanked family, friends and well wishers,and promised that he will not let them down as he will continue to speak the truth as his new title symbolizes. 


In the same vein, Hon Chukwuemeka Mbachukwu (Gosife Nnewi) who was on ground to felicitate with him on his new title, thanked God for the life of Amb Chief Charles Nwonye, whom he described as a worthy son of Anaedo Nnewi, who has also shown capacity in all he has done. He said he is proud of him and therefore thanked Mbido Igbo and all the traditional rulers that came together to crown him. He however called on him to remain steadfast in speaking truth to power, because truth is life.

Valentine Ozigbo Resigns from Labour Party

In a shocking move, against all speculations over the last few days, Valentine Ozigbo, a close ally of Peter Obi, has announced his resignation from the Labour Party (LP).
