Dominion Women International, Restates Commitment to Gov Hope Uzodinma's 2nd Tenure Bid



The Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodinma on University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Umuagwo, Chief Ezekiel Chukwukere (Ogbuhereuzo) has led the Dominion Women International, an NGO whose mandate is to ensure good governance in the state, on a courtesy visit to the Honorable Commissioner of Chieftaincy & local government affairs,Hon. Mrs Rubi Emele. The visit was to inform the Commissioner of their commitment towards the re election bid of Senator Hope Uzodinma, who they described as a leader who has shown capacity in all ramifications, which has touched all facets of the Imo economy and social life. 

Chief Chukwukere, while presenting the women group to the honorable commissioner stressed that, as the patron of the group, he deemed it necessary to visit the commissioner to highlight the activities of the group in the 27 LGAs of the state, as the group in the past has shown commitment and capacity, stressing that they are ready to ensure the governor is returned for a second term in office. He described the governor as a visionary leader, who has impacted positively on different sectors of the state economy and also commended the commissioner for the good work she is also doing at the ministry of local government and Chieftaincy affairs. 


In their opening remarks, the leader of the group Hon Ijeoma Chikwe thanked the Special Adviser for his magnanimity and also for leading them to meet with the Commissioner. She however thanked the commissioner for her good works at the ministry and promised to support the activities leading to the re-election of Senator Hope Uzodinma for a 2nd term in office. She said " Sliver or gold have we not,but with a heart full of joy and unflinching loyalty, we are supporting the re election of Gov Uzodinma and will do everything within our capacity to ensure he is returned come November 11 2023" She further stressed that the group has it's followers across the state and are committed to ensuring that the good works of the governor is rewarded with a second term in office. 


In her response, Hon. Mrs Rubi Emele thanked the group and their patron Hon. Chief Ezekiel Chukwukere for the good wishes and prayers for the administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma. She asked them not to relent, at ensuring that the needed support is given to the governor to continue with the good works he has been doing in Imo state in the last 3 years. She therefore called on them to gear up to the task ahead, by ensuring that women in the 27 LGAs of the state key into the 3R agenda of the state government, She concluded. 


The group in support of the re election of Governor Hope Uzodinma, donated 100 caps and promised to campaign vigorously for his re election once campaign for the governorship election is lifted by INEC. The group also honored Hon. Mrs Rubi Emele with a distinguished Award of honor as matron of the group for her activities in the state and pledged to work with her at the grassroots, towards ensuring that the message of the 3R administration of Senator Hope Uzodinma permeates all facets of the Imo political strata. The chairman Oru West, who is also the  Algon Chairman  Imo State was among the VIPs who witnessed the occasion.

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid.
