Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide Commend IPOB For their Stance on Monday Sit at home.

The youth wing of apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide has commended pro-Biafra groups, Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, for their stance over the Monday sit-at-home in Enugu State.

It could be recalled that the various groups had on Monday backed Enugu Governor, Peter Mbah, over his order to end sit-at-home in the State.

In a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday, the National President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike lauded the pro-Biafra groups for standing with the masses.

Okwu noted the sit-at-home had become counterproductive owing to its far reaching effects on the economy.

He said, “that everyone spoke with one voice, including religious and traditional leaders, means that we have all come to realise that the regular Monday sit-at-home is destroying our land. It has not in any way helped our course.”

The Ohanaeze Youth President, however, called on the five South-East governors to unite and make a fresh demand for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the IPOB leader.

“This is not a time for disunity among the governors; they should speak with one voice and demand for Kanu’s release.

“President Bola Tinubu is a different person and I am sure he will listen to the governors if they present the request to him.

“But they should stop operating in isolation; they should revive the South-East Governors' Forum and meet Mr President under its platform; he will accede to their request,” Okwu enthused.
