ENVISIONING A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR IMO STATE: Join the Essay Competition Today!



Imo State is a land of great potential and possibilities, with abundant natural resources and a vibrant population. The state has seen tremendous growth and development over the years, and the government is committed to ensuring that this growth continues well into the future. To this end, the Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor has launched an essay competition titled "My Dream Imo State in 2040" which is aimed at encouraging Imolites to envision a better future for the state and actively participate in its development.


The essay competition is drawn from 17 different topics under three major thematic areas: economic development, social development, and good governance. This provides a broad range of subjects to choose from, and candidates are expected to write on three topics maximum from the pool of topics. The essays must be specific to Imo State, Measurable, Ambitious, Realistic, and Time-bound, in line with the SMART principles of goal-setting.


This competition is an excellent opportunity for Imolites to showcase their writing skills and also contribute meaningfully to the development of the state. By writing on topics related to economic development, social development, and good governance, participants can provide valuable insights and suggestions that can help the government in its decision-making processes.


The prizes for winners in each of the topics are quite attractive, with a cash prize of 500,000 naira, a certificate, and the essay topics featured in the next edition of Imo Economy Digest Magazine. This is not only a great way to gain recognition but also an avenue to make a significant impact in the state. Winning essays will also serve as a roadmap for the government in achieving its developmental goals.


To participate in the essay competition, interested candidates must ensure that their essays are original, free of plagiarism, and submitted before the deadline. It is important to note that essays that do not meet the SMART criteria will be disqualified.

A notorious cult leader and the prime suspect in the brutal murder of the late Divisional Police Officer, SP Bako Angbashim, in the state, Gift Okpara, popularly referred to as 2Baba, has been reportedly killed in a police-led major security raid.
