PDP CHIEFTAIN CALLS FOR THE ARREST OF RTD. GEN LINCOLN OGUNEWE.



The PDP Chieftain Everest ikenna onwuama and a member of the pdp elders forum has strongly condemned the activities of Gen Lincoln Ogunewe who "mobilized soldiers and hijacked results of *EZINIHITTE LGA! ABOH MBAISE, NGOR OKPARA LGA* results to an unknown destination *where he doctored them  to the advantage of Labour Party Candidates.*"


He told newsmen "On behalf of the Pdp and the good people of mbaise nation we call that RTd General LINCOLN Ogunewe be arrested and called in for questioning for these criminal conducts that has jeopardized the fairness of the Elections."


He added "We have cause to believe that many were left wounded and unaccounted for."


According to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, anyone in breach of any of these provisions is liable to being arrested and charged to court and prosecuted by INEC after investigation by the relevant Security Agencies.


The offences and corresponding penalties are contained in the Commission’s Electoral Offences and Penalties published in February 2019.

Threatening

OFFENCES: Threatening a person with violence or injury to compel that person to vote or refrain from voting


b. Preventing any political aspirant from free use of the media vehicles, mobilization of political support and campaign at an election;


PENALTY: A fine of N1,000,000 or imprisonment for a term of 3 years.


Campaign and Campaign Finance


OFFENCE: Unlawful possession of a weapon at a political rally or voting center.


We therefore urge the inspector general of police Usman Alkali Baba CFR to immediately order the arrest of RTD. Gen Lincoln Ogunewe to answer from his criminal activities In the interest of justice."
