Sir Emeka Offor Foundation Gifts over 3000 Women with Xmas Largesse

 


~ Builds homes for the  indigents widows worth over 100M


The Sir Emeka Offor Foundation yesterday the 21st of December 2022 put similes to the faces of many indigent women from Orafite numbering over 3000. The women where gifted with 50Kg bags of Rice, a wrapper and a take home stipend to support themselves and family. This is inline with the vision of the founder of the NGO, Sir Emeka Offor, to reduce the economic hardship occasioned by high cost of living in the country. 


The founder of the foundation, Sir Emeka Offor was himself present to celebrate with the widows, an event which has now become a quarterly event aimed at giving succor to these widows. While addressing the women, who thronged out in their numbers to witness the Christmas get together, Sir Emeka Offor retirated his resolve to continue with the empowerment of women, especially widows who he said, are the bedrock of any family. He retirated the fact that the foundation was committed to improving the lives of the poor and the less privileged in the society. He used the occasion to inform them, that the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation has concluded plans to build 50 homes for indigent women among them, as 10 modern houses for the widows are ongoing, worth over 100M, while one has been completed. He promised that the project will be completed in 6 months time. 


Sir Emeka Offor however commended Chief Tony Obi for his doggedness in seeing the vision become a reality and promised to increase the stipends these widows receives every month from the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation going forward. 


The governor of Anambra state, Prof Chukwuma Soludo ably represented by the commissioner for women affairs, Mrs Ify Obinabuo thanked sir Emeka Offor for the good works he is doing in the country, especially in Anambra and the South East, and thanked God that Anambra has a son like him. She asked the women to continue to thank God for the life of Sir Emeka Offor, who has gone out of his way to ensure that women especially widows did not lack. She therefore called on the women, to complement the efforts and drive of the state government to restore normalcy to the state by inculcating good morals in their children and wards to enable government tackle other issues of governance as the meance being caused by the get rich quick syndrome is almost derailing the Igbo cultural ethics. 


In his address at the gathering, the Igwe of Orafite community, thanked Sir Emeka Offor, the founder of the foundation for his forthright wisdom in doing this for the women. He prayed for him for all the good things he has brought to Orafite town and called on the people to appreciate what he is doing for the community


While addressing the women, the President General of Orafite community, Chief Sunny Igboanuzuo thanked Sir Emeka Offor, for all his good works in Orafite, Anambra and Nigeria. He stated that it's indeed a great honor for a personality like Sir Emeka Offor to leave everything he is doing to ensure that he dines with the women this Christmas. He therefore called on Igbo, especially those from Anambra to emulate the gesture from sir Emeka Offor Foundation to help the indigent in their various communities. He made a pledge of #4M to support the Christmas celebration for the women.


Adding his voice, HRH Chief Ebuka Onunkwo, Eze Ndigbo Na Benin Republic and also the CEO of Seahorse Lubricants LTD thanked God for the life of Sir Emeka Offor. He stressed that he is a gift to the Igbo nation and Nigeria in general. He called on well meaning indigenes from Anambra to follow the footsteps of Sir Emeka Offor, as this is the only way to steam the tide or idleness in various communities in Anambra. He called on Ndi Anambra to return home emasse as security has been restored to Anambra.He supported the women celebration for the year with #5M. 


The high points of the event was the gifting of 50Kg bags or rice, sing song and other side attractions. The following are the names of widows whose houses have been commissioned awaiting completion, they are, Blessing Nweze. Uzomah Onyejekwu. Chidiebere Okeke, Chinenye Elokaobi. Gloria Nwanyichebe. Chinenye Nnajiofor, Obinnaya Uche. Juliana Ifedike, Regina Nnajiofor, Obinauju Uche. Nonye Mbamalu. Benedict Ejidike, Ogochukwu Uzoeto.
